One is an immediate threat to the public.
The other is a minor traffiic violation.
Why don't we give all Cops as much authority as an FBI agent and let them have jurisdiction anywere in the United States? And while were at it we might as well throw out the Consitution. They could arrest a lot more people that way. That would allow a policeman to do what ever they want to do.
Why not do this? Because then we would have no rights as citizens.
This is what the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are for people. Maybe you should try reading them.
