Plus most of the smaller fighters get something like 8 grand a fight. That's not alot if you only fight 4 times a year, so if Dana would be completely exclusive on all his fighters than most of them would be in the poor house, he has to let those lower guys fight elsewhere so they can make a living.
But you'll never see GSP, BJ Penn, Sean Sherk, Big Nog, or Quinton fighting elsewhere.

Also Dak when Chuck went to pride Dana wasn't president, there contracts were different so it doesn't matter. UFC wasn't as big as it is now. |
