Re: What an embarrassment

Well, it's the fact that the league and Goodell destroyed the tapes that has caught Congress' attention. Of course, there are underlying factors in all of this, the Sen. Arlen Specter has a hand in the cablevision mess with the NFL, but he's going to try to prove that the NFL is sweeping cheating under the rug as a way to make sure everyone believes the game is on the level, which it is.. the games definitely aren't fixed, but the whole thing can be brought into an Anti-trust dispute. Basically, the guy wants publicity and wants to make himself look good if he can prove the Pats were cheaters during the Eagles Super Bowl.. but he'll be smart enough to make it look like he hasn't a dog in the fight.

Apparently, Goodell has agreed to let the kid video assistant talk to Congress and present any tapes he may have. It could be getting a lot worse for the Pats in the coming months.

As for Congress' involvement in this steroid issue, I agree.. it does help the community and bring about awareness, and the fact is.. this was House Government Reform and Oversight Committee which hasn't a whole lot to do at the moment.
