Pettitte took it like a man, and I think he will looked upon less harshly than a guy like Clemens, who is fighting it tooth and nail.
We all make mistakes. It's the way that people respond when their mistakes are revealed that shows their true character.
Also, I do think the government should have an interest in the steroid issue. It does benefit the public if steroid abuse is reduced, and part of that is by punishing the people who sell steroids illegally. Thus, I dont have that much if a problem with Congress devoting resources to this matter. The government is flexible enough to handle multiple problems at once, such as Iraq, the economy, etc.
However, getting involved in Spygate is just ridiculous. It doesnt serve to improve American society whatsoever, and the case was handled internally by the NFL. The Patriots were penalized very harshly and appropriately. That should have been the end of it |
