He has been given a chance because of the of the street fighting vids, just like Brock Lesnar has a chance because of his past in amateur and professional wrestling. It just opened the door for him.
But the guy is good. He is a very good stand up fighter and that was without any formal training. I think with formal training he will be able to develop an excellent fighting style. Bas Rutten is one of the best and no, not everyone he trains is great but I think Kimbo has a very good chance of being great.
That is just my take on it.
Only time will tell.
