Re: Time(r) Was On Giants Side For Superbowl Win

The clock on the telecast fucked up a couple of times, but then they eventually resynched with the official clock.

I remember on the Giants opening drive, the clocked stopped at 6:02, and the Giants ran another play without the clock moving. Finally, when the Giants lined up for the FG, it went instantly from 6:02 to 5:05 or something like that. So, even though the clocks that we all saw were malfunctioning, I think the official clock was working for the most part.

The play before 1:28 that Simon talked about was when Jacobs ran for the first down on 4th and 1. The referee blew the whistle to stop the clock to observe the spot of the ball to determine if Jacobs picked up the first down. The clock continued running during this time, although it shouldnt have been running, because they always stop the clock when the referees need to determine whether or not a play picked up a first down. They then reset the clock to where it was when Jacobs was tackled.
