| Re: Chargers talkin' sh*t?! What the Chargers obviously fail to understand is that when you're an underdog, you WANT the other team to take you lightly. The Patriots are supremely talented and well coached, and they know this. It's human nature that might start buying into this, and maybe not give that extra effort in practice or in the game, and then if the Chargers give that extra effort they can maybe upset them.
I mean, look at how many close games the Patriots played in the second half. They might have taken the Ravens and the AJ Feeley-led Eagles lightly, and struggled a bit, before their supreme talent kicked in and won the game for them.
But then look at the game against Pittsburgh. They STOMPED a very high-quality team because that stupid back-up safety gave them the motivation to truly give that extra effort.
Why are athletes too stupid to just say something bland like "We know this will be a challenge, but we feel like we have a lot of talent on this team and if we prepare well and play our hardest, we can emerge victorious"
That is simple, to the point, doesnt get the other team riled up, and most of all, it's true |
