| WWE house shows in Britain used to sell out in under an hour. The last tapings they did here did walk-up trade. The decline in wrestling's popularity in the UK means that it just would not make all that big a difference to do it here. And the downside is they would have to create staging etc. that would'nt be used again. So economically Britains out. Down Under? I've been to a WWE house show on a sunday afternoon at the MEN and the atmosphere sucked. I'm not sure if the aussies (and bear in mind i'm only going of the ones I know) are boisterious enough to give the PPV any atmosphere on a sunday afternoon. Japan does seem more viable, wrestling is still a big deal there and I do think WWE could sell out the massive Toyko dome. Other countries that are possibilities in mind as well would be Mexico for a Smackdown PPV. And that island the Colon's come from too. Italy is fairly big on wrestling right now too. |
