Basically, Carter felt that Toronto management wasn't doing what was in Carters best interest, i.e. winning a championship/MVP. So he demanded a trade out of Toronto, after pledging allegiance to the Raptors. He was then traded to the Nets for Alonzo Mourning, whom never showed. So basically the Raptors got nothing out of him. His work ethic is lackadaisical at best.
