| Re: Nominations for Monks Baseball End Of The Year Award AL MVP - A-Rod. I'm not giving an explanation, sorry. This is a given. The only other guy even REMOTELY close is Magglio Ordonez. But sorry, it goes to the Yank's "Hot Corner". NL MVP - Prince Fielder 50 HR, .394 OBP, and in the home stretch here (Sept) he's hitting .354 with 11 dingers and 22 batted in. He is helping to keep the Brewers alive. AL Cy Young - Josh Beckett Nothing that hasn't been said already above. One of the tops in ERA and WHIP, and let's not forget about those 20 wins. NL Cy Young - Jake Peavy Another lock in my opinion. 18 Wins, 2.30 ERA or so...wow. Simply amazing. Leads the leagues in K's with 233 or so...it's a given here. NL Rookie of the Year: Troy Tulowitzki Sorry, can't give it to Braun here. His horrible fielding percentage (worst in the league at .900 or so) is part of what makes up Rookie of the Year in my mind. Troy is .292, 22, 91. A great start for this young guy. And a fielding percentage of .980 or so, which is tops for Shortstops (not an easy feat for a rookie to accomplish) AL Rookie of the Year: Delmon Young A .363 average with runners in scoring position is a great feat. Usually rookies can crumble under that kind of pressure, but Delmon always steps it up. Not to mention a nice chunk of SB and his glove, and he is great on both sides of the field.
