Announcement August 15, 2007

As many of you have noticed, during the past month, MonksDiner has gone through some major changes. A complete site redesign, added features, and staff changes. There are many reasons for this, and this thread is to shed some light on why the changes have occurred.

Site Redesign:

The new design of MonksDiner has been long deserved. With the forum starting to grow and expand, it was only logical that MonksDiner have a unique design, one that could make MonksDiner stand out from the rest of the forums / websites on the net. A lot of time, and funds went into this design, and it was for the existing members, and future members. Additionally, it was felt that there needed to be a standardized flow to the site. We continue to tweak a few things here and there, but this will be the permanent look for MonksDiner.

Added Features:

Every site has it’s niche. MonksDiner has transformed over the past few year, changing it’s forum focus, and never really having one particular niche. In the past, and still today, the wrestling forums tend to dominate the others, however, to diversify the forums, and give members to ability to discuss various other interest, new forums were made, old forums that didn’t do so well were removed, and the overall topic of the forum has become Entertainment, be it General entertainment, Hollywood news, Celebrity Gossip, Television / Music / Movie discussion, Wrestling, Sports, etc… anything and everything entertainment related. Surely you don’t go through your life eating PB&J every day, so why have a forum who’s only focus is one specific subject matter? Hopefully, the changes that have been implemented will provide something for everyone. Get tired of discussing one topic, or just need a change of pace, Monks now provides that to you.

Staff Changes:

I realize this is a touchy subject, but first and foremost, the changes to the staff should in no way negatively reflect on any individual or their performance. Previously, staff titles were given to top posters, people that have been with MonksDiner for some time, as a badge if you will. However, that is not the purpose of Staff. Moderators are to moderate the forum, and make sure members abide by the forum rules, checking for spam posts, duplicate posts, content not allowed, etc. Super moderators have those same abilities, and are the backbone to the Mod staff. Admins function in various aspects of forum management, be it the staff, members, technical, and promotional tasks.

With all that being said, the changes that have occurred were to align the forum with the appropriate number of staff members required to maintain the forum. We wish all that are no longer on staff the very best and hope they still enjoy their Monk experience. It was not personal.

Furture of MonksDiner:

We are committed to improving MonksDiner, promoting the forum, and providing you, the members with an enjoyable place to spend your time. Changes are sometimes not taken well, and it is understandable, we can't please everyone. If you bare with us however, you will see that change is good, and that the changes being made to MonksDiner are beneficial. With promotion, we are gaining new members, and even some old members are returning. More members equals more lively discussions, and perhaps some new friendships.
