Re: Randy Moss Traded To New England For Fourth Round Draft Pick

Blade, the Patriots were 11th in the league in passing yards and 15th in yards per attempt last year. So, they weren't exactly an elite passing offense...

And DD, I understand the reasons for the moves that the Patriots made...I was talking about more of the team's mentality. The whole "We have Belichick and Brady, that's all we need" mantra. OK, fine, they let McGinest, Vinatieri, and Branch go because they all wanted more money than the Pats thought they were worth. That's fine...but the problem was that the people they replaced them with were much much less talented, so the team suffered as a result. They thought they could take scrubs and turn them into stars, and it just didn't work...it works sometimes, but not often enough to justify the loss of talent.

To the Patriots credit, this year they realized the error of their ways and reversed course. They are once again paying for talent, and will probably reap the rewards
