| Re: iMPACT! - April 19th 2007 Summary: Mike Tenay is in the six-sided ring as iMPACT! opens and invites Jeff Jarrett to the ring. Mike says that at Lockdown, Jarrett proved he was a different Double J. Tenay wants to know WHY? Jeff says that during the 6 months he was away from TNA, he realized that its not all about him; its about TNA, and he wants to give back to the fans. He said that STEP 1 was last week on iMPACT!, STEP 2 was at Lockdown, and STEP 3 may shock a lot of people, but there's something that he must make right. Just then, Kurt Angle comes to the ring and says that Jarrett should makes things right with him. Jarrett said that he did exactly what he came back at Lockdown to do -- help Team Angle get the win. It just so happened that Sting was in the right place, at the right time. Kurt told Jarrett that Double "You are now in the wrong place, at the wrong time." Sting came down to the ring and told Kurt that if it wasn't for people like himself and Jarrett, Kurt would be an "Olympic Gold Medalist Gym Teacher". But if Kurt wanted the title shot so bad, he can face Sting to determine the true number one contender next week on iMPACT!.
Christian Cage is backstage laughing about the fighting between Sting and Angle and says he has more important things to worry about tonight. He and Abyss will face Team 3D for the NWA Tag Team Titles. Cage also tells Abyss that if he doesn't help Cage come away with more gold around his waist, the monster will be in store for a load of trouble.
The first match of the night pits, The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles, Rhino, and Samoa Joe in a Fatal Four Way match. Joe and Rhino seemed to control the bout for most of the time. Yet it was Chistopher Daniels who came away with the victory when he hit Rhino with a baseball bat when the War Machine went in for a Gore.
Jeremy Borash is now in the back with Kurt Angle where the Olympic Gold Medalist tells Sting that it is time to step aside or be pushed aside. "Next week, your revival ends when I win the NWA Title shot."
The next match of the night is Wildcat Chris Harris (w/Gail Kim) against Robert Roode (w/Ms. Brooks and Eric Young). Before the match could even start, Jackie Moore comes to the ring and jumps Gail Kim from behind and the two brawl into the crowd as Robert Roode makes his way to the ring. The end of the match saw Wildcat go for a Catatonic and go for the pin, but only to have Ms. Brooks pull the referee out before he could make the three count. In the meantime, Robert Roode is able to grab a pair of handcuffs and strike Harris out cold and get the pinfall. Yet Roode was not done, after he saw Eric Young shove Ms. Brooks to the floor, he slapped EY and shoved him into the ring. He asked Eric if he was mad that he beat up his "friend" Petey at Lockdown. Eric smiled and said that Petey wasn't "the" friend. Roode asked who it was, but EY didn't answer. Roode said he will give him seven days to tell him or else Eric gets fired.
In the back, James Mitchell is seen berating Abyss, screaming at him that if he loses tonight, his mother will go to jail. An enraged Abyss goes crazy and throws everything insight around in a frenzy.
Another Paparazzi Productions video is shown where it seems that Jay Lethal...er...Black Machismo is very happy with his new found personality. Unlike Sonjay Dutt, who comes out in some "Big Daddy Cool" threads. Black Machismo tries to lift Sonjay's spirits by telling him that he can now climb over the top rope, but Sonjay wants nothing of it. He tells Kevin Nash that he is sick of it and tells him to "stick it". Like Mike Tenay said, it seems like Sonjay is tired of getting Kevin Nash's "hand-me-downs".
The Main event is next as Christian Cage and Abyss battle Team 3D for the NWA Tag Team Titles. Team 3D dominated almost all of the match, looking as if the newly won Tag Titles brought a breath of fresh air into their offense. Yet, somehow Abyss was able to gain the advantage and put Devon on his shoulders. It seemed like Cage was going to go for a "Doomsday Device", but Devon was able to get off Abyss' shoulders and throw him into the top rope, making Cage plummet to the floor in the process. As Abyss was dazed, Team 3D took advantage and hit a 3D and retained their titles. Once Cage came to and realized what had just transpired, he went into the ring as we went to commercial.
Back from the break, Cage was in Abyss' face and yelling at him for losing. Abyss went for a chokeslam on Cage, but Mitchell kept threatening him by telling him his mother would go to jail. As Abyss let go, Cage spit at the Monster -- not such a good idea. As Abyss grabbed Cage and put him into the Shocktreatment. Just then Team Cage came down to attack Abyss, but their plans were thwarted when the monster decimated the team; leaving Jim Mitchell to fend for himself. He tried to threaten Abyss with a cellphone once more, but was slapped out of his hands and Jim Mitchell was hit with a Black Hole Slam for his efforts. Team Cage came into the ring again and attacked Abyss with numerous chair shots -- making the monster bleed like I never have seen him bleed before. Yet that was nothing compared to the blood that appeared after Cage hit Abyss twice with a barbwire bat, followed by a con-chair-to. Abyss was left a bloody mess as Team Cage raised their hands in glory and the show came to a close. |
