Neither Sven or McClaren aren't that bad. I think Sven was slightly better since he (in my eyes) is more of a manager, and McClaren is more of a coach. McClaren is a great number two, but not a convincing number 1. Much like Brian Kidd.
I think the main problem is the media. If they left both guys alone they'd have done a better job, and maybe with the lack of pressure the team could have gone into games against Portugal and Brazil feeling a little less strained, which could have helped them to victory. |
