From what Ive heard about the story surrounding the Knees on the ground being taken out. The head of NJSAC saw a fight from some show and they offended him so he removed them from the rules. Basicly your regular guy who was a "boxing" guy and not a MMA Guy. Thats were alot of the states get there tight rules from, no one understood MMA all that well. had MMA been more strict with its rules from the get go they may be abit more laxed now. The whole no rules, no gloves, no weight class period from the start of UFC gave the sport a bad rep in America. |
