The problem with hip-hop, and honestly with all music, is that the vast majority of artists who are actually talented don't sell that well, so the record executives push them to the side in favor of what is "hot" like Young Jeezy or some other bullshit like that. And then they're determined to just keeping pumping out bullshit like that, without any thought to whether or not that trend/fad will die out.
Meanwhile, the Roots put out an album and most people don't even know it exists. Talib Kweli puts out an album and you don't hear a single song on the radio. It's a fucking tragedy |
