For those who don't know what happened, this was the deal....
Carlos Boozer was a second round pick, so he had a really cheap contract...like almost the league minimum ($400,00 per year I think it was). Boozer had two really good years for the Cavs, and the Cavs had the option of keeping him at the same salary for the third year.
So the Cavs came to an agreement with him: They said they would not exercise the option if Boozer agreed to sign a an extension with them for like $8 million a year. So, the Cavs let the option expire, under the assumption they would re-sign him shortly thereafter. However, he then signed with Utah for $11 million per year, turning his back on Cleveland, who could have easily kept him for $400,000. Now that, was a big scumbag move. |
