NBA player in Spurs takeover
An NBA player, who is a Tottenham fan, has revealed that he would be interested in buying a stake in the club.
Liverpool, Manchester United and Aston Villa are all under American ownership and the North London could join their ranks in the near future.
Reigning NBA MVP Steve Nash has British parents and is keen to plough some of his riches into the club.
The 33-year-old earned £5Million in basic salary in 2006 and is in a financial position to invest in the club.
"If someone were to come in to buy Spurs, I would like to be involved. I suppose you would be talking about a consortium type of situation," said Nash.
"As a fan, it appears to me that Spurs are quite profitable and Premiership football teams are obviously becoming a popular investment for businessmen from all over the world."
Nash is friends with Tottenham sporting director Damien Commoli, and met him at last summer's World Cup in Germany.
Billionaire Joseph Lewis currently owns close to 30% of the club through his investment company ENIC Sports Ltd
The ENIC consortium has owned the club since 2001 with Daniel Levy acting as the club's chairman.
