Favre ready for ankle surgery Green Bay star Brett Favre will have ankle surgery in the next two weeks, says Packers head coach Mike McCarthy.
The 37-year-old quarterback skipped an operation at the end of last season and had yet to reschedule.
But McCarthy, who went 8-8 in his first season in charge of the Packers, said: "We're looking to have it done in the next couple of weeks.
McCarthy added he was "absolutely" certain a Favre will return to fitness in time for training camp this summer.
Favre confirmed he would return for his 17th season with Green Bay on 2 February.
He has started 257 consecutive games including the play-offs, an NFL record for quarterbacks.
Favre broke Dan Marino's record for career completions (4,967) in 2006 and is closing in on his marks for touchdown passes (420) and yards passing (61,361). Credit: BBC Sport |
