Phillies assistant GM Ruben Amaro Jr said: "We view Chase as not only a great second baseman but also one of the top 10 to 15 players in the game."
Utley had a 35-game hitting streak in 2006, the longest in the majors and the second-longest in franchise history.
He has developed into one of the major league's premier power-hitting second basemen, hitting 32 home runs and driving in 102 runs. Source: BBC Sport |
