Chris Reitsma is not a dud, he's a good late inning reliever with closing experience. In the end, the Mariners gave up 50-70 innings of great pitching (Soriano) for 240-280 solid pitching (Ramirez and Reitsma). Last season they found themselves bringing up guys from the minors that probably weren't ready because they had no one else to fill up innings. They have done what they can to fix that problem without losing too much in the setup area, and they still may not be done.
