The ocean ripple on the bg looks like a pretty cool effect, but it doesn't really go with the render or the text. I would seriously suggest downloading some grunge and/or abstract brushes from
www.deviantart.com
No real blending, but as you read more tuts you will learn more about that.
Also try to add some effect to your tex, blike drop shadows and srtokes, but make sure you don't over do it.
