| PS3 upgrades... With this new patch the PlayStation 3 will default to 1080i over 720p. For games that support 1080p and your set only can support 1080i, games will now automatically default to 1080i. Unfortunately for Blu-ray movies, if youÂ’ve disabled the 1080i resolution, movies will be downscaled to 480p. Huh?
While the game situation seems to have been resolved somewhat, Blu-ray seems to be stuck in the dog house for now. But considering Sony has been on top of this with frequent updates of the system, weÂ’re hoping for an upcoming patch to address the Blu-ray issue as well.
WeÂ’ll keep you posted.
