However, for this to happen, he would have to completely go on a downward curve as a player and become a very ordinary defender.
If he carries on progressing, or even stays at the level he is at now, then he won't be a Manchester City player over the age of 21. The club simply cannot, and don't look like they ever will, be able to offer him Champions League football or wages of near £100,000 per week.
I hope he does stay there another couple of years though. He has an excellent mentor in Pearce and should just continue his progression instead of chasing money too soon. |
