| Webber exits 76ers with pay-off Webber exits 76ers with pay-off
Veteran forward Chris Webber has had the remainder of his lucrative contract paid off by Philadelphia.
The buy-out means Webber, 33, walks away with around $30m and is free to sign a deal with any other NBA team.
The five-time All-Star has missed 10 games since 13 December because of ankle and foot injuries.
He has averaged a career-low 11.0 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 18 games but will be looking to join a team contention for the play-offs.
Philadelphia are looking to rebuild after also offloading maruqee player Allen Iverson in a trade with the Denver Nuggets.
The struggling Sixers are currently bottom of the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division with a 9-26 win-loss record. Credit - BBC Sport |
