| Well, I think the 49ers would be well-served to trade down in the first to a team like, say the Patriots, for additional high picks. On the other hand, if they could trade up high enough to take DT Alan Branch, that would be a huge addition to the defense.
But if they stay at #11, either of the top safeties, LaRon Landry or Reggie Nelson, would look nice in red and gold. DE Gaines Adams would be another great pick, or if he's taken, LaMarr Woodley and Jamaal Anderson are good ends. Even one of the top CBs, whether it's Leon Hall or Darrelle Revis or Antoine Cason, in my opinion, would help more than a first-round receiver.
I agree that Jarrett would be a good addition to the 49ers (Calvin Johnson will be long gone by then), but the simple fact that guys like Dwayne Bowe, Jeff Samardzija, Jason Hill, Steve Smith, Steve Breaston, Anthony Gonzalez will all be around in rounds 2-3 makes me think any team that poor on defense needs not take a wideout in the first. Hell, Sidney Rice could be around at SF's 2nd-round pick -- THAT would be a steal. |
