Gunners confirm bids for trio

Arsene Wenger has been approached for Freddie Ljungberg and Jeremie Aliadiere, while Lauren is talking to West Ham.

Sweden international Ljungberg is no longer guaranteed a place in the Arsenal side following the arrival of Tomas Rosicky and Alexander Hleb.

The time may be right for the Gunners to cash in on their £3million-signing from Halmstads considering he is nearing his 30th birthday and has been constantly set back by niggling injuries in recent seasons.

And despite fielding offers for Ljungberg, Wenger denies wanting to sell the winger as he believes he still has a lot to offer the club.

"You have conflicting reports because you don't read our website," the Gunners boss told Eurosport.

"He's a player in our squad. It's as simple as that - we are not on the market to sell Freddie Ljungberg.

"We had offers, yes, but I just gave you my answer. It is that we decide to keep him."

Wenger also confirmed he has received interest for wantaway striker Jeremie Aliadiere, but is reluctant to allow the young Frenchman to leave.

He added: "Aliadiere? I want him here but can I keep him happy with enough games? My big problem at the moment is he deserves to play but there's a lot of congestion in the squad.

"He's a top striker and showed that against Liverpool. I, personally, want to keep him but I won't put a knife to his throat if he's not happy here.

"I want to keep him - he's become a very strong striker and I don't want to lose him. We have had offers for Aliadiere."

Cameroon international defender Lauren is back to fitness after recovering from knee ligament damage but his future is also in doubt as he is also further back in the right-back pecking order at Arsenal.

Wenger explained: "Lauren is different. He's at the end of his contract at the end of the season.

"I would love him to stay until the end of his contract but, anyway, he can talk to anybody and we cannot stop that."

Lauren has reportedly been in contact with West Ham but recently stated he would be happy to stay at Arsenal.
