| UEFA to introduce new rule? Apparently Uefa wants to copy the rule from rugby where only the teams captains can discuss, argue with the ref during the match.
The communication director William Gaillard, sees the situation today as "dangerous" and he says that the captains have a huge responsibility to better the conflict.
He points to the relationship between refs, players and managers getting whorse and that the real problem lies in the lower divisions where they have atacked refs somewhere about every other week . This is a problem for recrutation of refs in lower divisions and Uefa fears that this will spread to the higher ones.
The retired ref David Elleray is somewhat skeptic about copying rules from rugby and says that it will be very sad if you cant express your opinion or tell the ref about a bad desicion. But he stress the fact that the accept of mistakes from refs must be higher.
"We comment when players make mistakes, like when Saha missed the penalty against Celtic. It was a crucial mistake, but he didnt do it on purpose and that error didnt make him an incompetent player. But if it was a ref doing a similar crucial mistake people would start to question his integrity, judgement and competence."
