I wasn't a big fan when he was at his best in the mid 80's and so on. I love his mic spots (well nearly all of them, sometimes it goes on a bit too far!). It's quite laughable that he has a rep as being a guy that wasn't a terrific worker. I've seen old tapes of him and his workrate, although not exactly brilliant, was much better than a lot of the guys now who are just flat out embarassing. I guess that comes from a lot of wrestling, a lot of house shows and long matches down the years that enabled him to read a crowd. I'm not entirely sure if it could be true that Hogan wouldn't have become so big without him, but yes every face needs an equally good heel to get over to another level so I can't argue the point!
