I probably should, considering my father's life was saved by a heart donor.

In fact, on my grad school applications, they asked about unique personal experiences and how it could impact campus diversity, and I talked about how my father ha a heart transplant, and how I want to raise awareness of the need for organ donors. Whoops...

It's funny though, some really paranoid people think that if you are listed as a donor, they will try less hard to save you in an emergency. Like, they need the organs so bad, that if you're listed as a donor, they'll let you die so they can take your organs. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard
