| New Slipknot Album in 2008? Quote:
The maggots may have to wait till 2008 for a new Slipknot album if the latest update from the band is anything to go by, reports Gigwise.
The Des Moines, Iowa nine piece have been working on material for the follow up to "Vol. 3 (The Subliminal Verses)" since June. However, M. Shawn Crahan aka Clown says that the band probably won't hit the studio until the end of next summer or even the beginning of the autumn to start recording.
Explaining the bands latest sabbatical he told MTV: "I don't think a lot of people understand this, but we're not a normal band.
"We are the kind of band that — because of its magnitude, it's nine people — believes in taking time off between conceptual cycles.
"So, we just got done with a three-and-a-half-year thing, and we played over 240 shows in 34 countries, and now, we get a break from each other — a spiritual, mental, physical break. And when we get back together, it's business, man."
He also hinted that several members of the band will be getting together in January to work on the material collated so far.
He continued: "We're all alive today, so things are good. Do we want to get together and make a fourth record? Why wouldn't we?"
| Not a huge fan of Slipknot but musically they are definitely a talented bunch of guys, and for all teh maggots this album will be very much worth the wait I'm sure... |
