| MLB News and Notes The Anaheim Angels have reached an agreement with RP Justin Speier formerly of the Toronto Blue Jays on a 4-year deal. Speier will add more depth to the already deep Anaheim bullpen.
The Cincinnati Reds have agreed on a 2-year contract with RP Mike Stanton formerly of the Washington Nationals. The 39-year old Lefty was 7-7 last year in Washington and San Fransisco.
The lesser known Japanese pitcher Kei Igawa will begin to be bid on. He played with the Hanshin Tigers last year. Igawa went 14-9 last season with a 2.97 ERA in Japan. He struck out 194 to tie for the Central League lead.
The New York Mets are close to signing a deal with former San Fransisco Giant Moises Alou. The addition of Alou would greatly improve their lineup and should make the Mets the clear-cut favorites in the East. If he does sign it means that incumbent LF Lastings Milledge could be out of town before next year for some pitching
The Baltimore Orioles are looking at Atlanta P Tim Hudson. They reportedly are looking to give-up phemon P Hayden Penn. |
