| Nice topic, here's a few of mine: Michael Johnson (USA - Athletics) – He was a phenomenal athlete, and is a perfect role model for any aspiring athlete. I also love listening to him talk about athletics when he works for the BBC during major athletics meets. He speaks so much sense. Jonah Lomu – (New Zealand – Rugby Union) – He bulldozed the English rugby backline, back in the 95 World Cup. It was brilliant from a Welsh point of view seeing the old enemy destroyed like that. He has also had to over come a serious illness to his kidneys which threatened his career at one point. It was great seeing him play again last year, especially when he came to play for my club, Cardiff Blues. Ronaldinho – (Brazil – Football) – The most skilful player I’ve ever had the privilege of watching live. When he came to Cardiff to play for Barcelona against Parma in a preseason friendly a few years ago, he was absolutely breathtaking. If anyone ever gets the chance to go and see him live, then I urge you to do so! I’m gutted Wales are playing Brazil in London today. If it were in Cardiff I’d be there in a heart beat. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (Norway – Football) Barcelona 1999, 92nd minute of the European Cup final… enough said! |
