Warrant: Officer sent image of his genitals to teen

ARLINGTON — An off-duty Dallas police officer arrested Wednesday after he attempted to meet with a 14-year-old girl had e-mailed a picture of his genitals to the teen, a search warrant affidavit states.
Arlington police found the picture on officer Patrick Cemperoma Taylor’s cellphone at the time of his arrest. He faces charges of one count of criminal solicitation of a minor. He was released late Wednesday on a $7,500 bond.
Taylor, 25, is accused of attempting to set up a meeting with the teen through a cellphone text-messaging service while her mother was supposed to be at work.
Taylor met the teen over the Internet days ago through a Web site, dallaspeeps.com, according to a search warrant. Authorities also checked computers, notebooks and financial receipts in his Rowlett home, according to search warrant affidavit.
Police said Thursday that any additional criminal evidence unrelated to the Arlington case would be investigated by Rowlett authorities.
After finding the text-message, the girl’s mother, who was just about to leave for work, worried that the man might be a sexual predator, according to previous reports.
Pretending to be her daughter, the mother said she sent a text message back to Taylor and told him to come over to her apartment. She immediately called the Arlington police. |
