In general:
I wrote a paper in western civ - an undergrad class in wh we read the creation stories, a bit more of old and of new testament and all of the (very repetitive) quran among many other books.
So I wrote a paper saying what would happen if a guy in the present day was sitting in a cave and came out saying God was talking to them thru an angel. I compared a present day Muhammad to cult leaders. I predicted he would be deemed crazy by the majority and potentially troublesome in the same fashion as some of America's most notorious cultleaders. The teacher was thrown but I think she liked it.
Now I wonder if someone walked around present day, claiming to be the son of god, what kindof reaction would he get. (Not that we haven't had a few of those anyways). |
