| Police re-arrest man accused of locking girl in kennel In 2005, a St. Paul man was sentenced to 90 days in jail for locking his girlfriend's then 11-year-old daughter in a dog kennel to discipline her. Now, 41-year-old Eric Bare has been arrested again.
St. Paul police officials say Bare was arrested on Wednesday, on a sexual assault charge allegedly against the same girl he admitted keeping in a kennel back in 2005.
Bare and his 34-year-old girlfriend, Deborah Cameron, were both charged in February of 2005 with unreasonable restraint of a child.
In April of that year, Cameron reached a plea deal to have a second count of unreasonable restraint dismissed in exchange for her testimony against Bare, who pleaded guilty two months later served his time and was placed on probation for two years and ordered to pay the cost of any future counseling the young victim may need.
At the time, Bare told Child Protection Services he and Cameron put the girl in the chain-link dog pen to discipline her, and they used the kennel as an example of what would happen if she continued her behavior, according to court papers. Source: Kare 11
