| An ok show, I've got to admit I was a little ho hum about watching Raw this week knowing Edge was no longer the champion and probably won't be again for a long time but it was a good show in certain spots.
Cena vs. Edge was a solid match, as Styles had it right both guys were trying things they don't usually go for in their matches, and yes as much as I rag on the guy Cena did work hard although you'll never be able to convince me that he should have regained the title at the Rumble. I've really come to enjoy Lita's acting believe it or not, atleast until she opens her mouth. The whole live sex thing when Flair came out thrusting you could read her lips saying "Please god No" which was pretty comical and she played the concerned girlfriend tonight very well in a more subdued role than she usually plays in Edge's matches. The finish was unexpected but atleast interesting because based on Lita's reaction she meant to hit Edge on purpose to get him the victory although not the title. The way she was rubbing her hands together while not looking all too surprised at the ref's decision in addition to Edge's bewildered expression has me anxious to find out what the story is for next week.
I like Coach a lot but I wanted King or Styles to throttle him after he repeated over and over that Edge was going to win the title which pretty much telegraphed that he wasn't going to win it. Michael Cole has this same annoying habit and really takes me out of a match knowing the guy you want to win has no chance of doing so.
I agree with Blitz and others in the raw live thread.Chavo Guerrero is no Eddie Guerrero. Trips atleast made him look competitive but I will give Chavo credit in that he took that pedigree like a champ, brutal looking that was.
Mickie plays her role well and Trish is a goddess but really how much longer are they going to drag this thing out. If this doesn't end with Trish Stratus sodomy count me as dissapointed.lol
Snitsky vs. Rvd- what the hell were they thinking having Van Damm sell for 3 quarters of the match putting the whole crowd to sleep. Snitsky is aweful and while RVD's timing seemed to be a little off there's no doubt in my mind that Snitsky's inexplicable domination for most of the match made it a real stinker.
HBK vs. Shane/Vince is going to be good. I predict a Michaels/ Shan o'mac bloodbath at Mania.
As much as I disagree with the Royal Rumble booking Edge and Cena have got a pretty compelling main event fued going (who would have guessed that a year ago?) and while I am a big Triple H fan I hope they don't just discard Edge for the Game after Wrestlemania. |
