| I watched the second quarter of that game, which was before Kobe exploded with 55 after halftime. Anyway, it was totally clear that Kobe is the only guy out there who's even trying for the Lakers. Seriously, I don't know if I've ever seen more of a one man show on the hardwood -- even Iverson's career doesn't compare with what Kobe's working with out there.
At some point last night, Kobe just realized that whoever he passed it to either wasn't going to shoot the ball, and certainly wasn't going to make a shot, so he just took care of things himself. I believe he's averaging 36 a game after the 81, so it'll be interesting to see how high he can take that total. Jordan's highest PPG was 37.1 or something. |
