Yeah they were going into Bankrupcy but it was not going to happen until mid '44 and it happened anyway when America asked for her money back so it was more a concern of what might happen rather than a direct problem starring them in the face. Eitherway, GB would never have been defeated by the Germans because Sea Lion was never going to work unless the Luftwaffe were capable of producing masses upon masses of air strikes which was never gonna happen.
Churchill wanted FDR and the US in the war, no doubt about it, the resources, men and materials were immense, but to say that the US won the war for the Allies is obtuse and inaccurate, Vichy France was never gonna fall due to the mass of resistence and soon enough when Russia sorted her shit out she was bound the steam roll through the Rhine anyway.
