| =Opening segment was pretty good. The minute Edge sat on the ladder, i knew he'd get shoved off...i had flashbacks to the last time he did a promo on top of a ladder, where the same thing happened. Nice to see Cena just come out and whomp on him, too. Decent stuff. Random thought: I'm still not totally buying Edge as WWE Champ, i realized last night...he still doesn't feel like a main-eventer to me. Not sure why, i just don't 'get' him or something.
-Hardy vs. Nitro was alright, i thought. It was rough around the edges and didn't really suck me in. I hope their PPV match is better.
-Six-man tag set-up via backstage beat-down was pretty well done.
-SUPER CRAZY! I have no idea why they switched him over. I like him, though, so it'll be another reason to tune in. I really dig his new attire a lot. Nice to see him go over Masters, too, i wasn't too sure that would happen, adn it 's the right choice. Masters needs to earn his spot.
-McMahons/DX segment. Meh. I think i'd have been more entertained backstage with Maria and the paint. I guess it was ncie to see DX more aggressive and everything, and as Brian said, hopefully this means they'll drop the wang jokes for awhile (man, i hope so). I always like a massive beat-down on rent-a-cops, but the fact that it was DX made it hard for me to get excited. Even a HIAC doesn't have me interested in their PPV match. Big Show is the only reason i care a little.
-Three-way tag was a fun match. That bump Murdoch took was f'ing nasty. I've realized that i think Vis and Haas work pretty well as a team. Glad to see the Highlanders finally earn their shot, and hopefully they'll win it (and feud with Cryme Tyme!).
-Yep, Flair kissing Maria was just a tad bit creepy/gross. Nice to see some continuity with Armando's comments to Flair. They did a decent job with Kane's return, i liked Umaga running up and getting the pyros...wuold have liked to see him make a second run after, though, to show that he was still not afraid....but, typical heel tactics require a retreat.
-CRYME TYME! I found the vignette to be fairly amusing. It reminded me of Chapelle's Show. They seem liek they should be a pretty entertaining addition, adn hopefully they can go in the ring, too.
-Six-person tag main event was pretty good. Good effort by everyone involved. RKO on Trish was cool. I didn't catch the "you can't see me", though. I thought ti was kind of odd that it would end with Orton getting the win and all, but i suppose it's meant to fuel his feud with Carito.
All in all, a fairly good show overall. Better than past weeks, thanks to a minimal amount of DX/McMahons and a good amount of focus/build on other feuds, and a few new faces, too.
I'll give it an 8 out of 10. |
