| I agree with you Blitz about Michaels IF his last match had been at Wrestlemania 14, but since he's come back he seems more willing to put over young talent, even if they have not been established. I mean he put over Duvari for gods sake.lol
I agree with one of the above posts that said that all main eventer's have an ego to a certain extent but I would put forth one wrestler that to my knowlege has never seemed to have an issue with it. The Rock.
I know he hasn't wrestled in years but even when he, along with Hunter and Austin were bringing the WWF to unprecidented levels of sucess in regards to ratings, he never seemed to have issues putting other people over. Rhino, Hurricane, frigging Al Snow, he put them all over at one time or another knowing that these losses were not going to effect his own star power. When Jericho was finally getting his world title push Rocky put him over 5 times on television and ppv in less than a sixth month period, a couple losses being clean defeats, something unheard of when a heel is being pushed against a top face. Rock as well as Foley's willingness to enhance their oppenents really made me appreciate what they were able to do more in retrospect during the Attitude era and shows you don't need to be packaged as invincible to be one of the top stars. |
