Vegas Vacation

Well, I just got back from spending 5 sunny days in Vegas and my feet and wallet are killing me. I walked everywhere, litterally. The weather was awesome ranging from 77 to 80 with sun, a change from the weather here in Toronto (36-45 and cold). Vixxxen and I hit all the casinos, and got to see what the big deal about some of them were.

The nicest ones were:

-The Venetian (Venice in Vegas)
-Belaggio - they have a fountain show every 15 mins
-Caesar's Palace (Rome)- home of WM9
-Treasure Island (Pirate theme) - we saw The Sirens of TI, which was a pirate battle between gals & guys.

The shops and designs of these casinos are awesome. And yes, there are tables and slots everywhere, along with sections dedicated to "high rollers."

The Ok ones were:

-Bally's
-The Palms & The Rio - both off the strip and a helluva long walk.
-Excalibur - liked the medieval theme, but too many kids running around.

The not-so-great ones were:

-Harrah's
-The Mirage (unless you like Sigfried and Roy... not for me)
-Mandalay Bay (the only highlight was the indoor shark tank)
-Tropicana, Barbary Coast - both kind of skeezy
-MGM Grand (good for restaurants though - expensive as Hell).

Didn't have the chance to hit the Hilton, Sahara or the Hard Rock, but will check them out when I go back in September of next year.

Did some gambling, lost a little money, but spent most of the time walking around, shopping, and eating. I don't care what they say, you can walk to every casino in Vegas.

The only thing that I didn't enjoy was the public drinking on the streets (illegal here in Canada), people handing out the "976-girl" cards, and the smoke in the casinos and restaurants. In Toronto, all places of business including casinos are non-smoking.

The place we stayed at The Imperial Palace was across the street from Caesar's Palace so it was nice being near everything, despite the Imperial screwing up our reservations no only on our arrival but also the day before we left. We kicked up a huge fuss and made them give us a complementary buffet for their f*** up. Oh and for future reference, the Imperial Palace is a hole. I'm gonna stay at the Flamingo the next time I go there - LOL!!

We payed a visit to Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville for some island cuisine and a free show, as well as the Hart and Huntington Tattoo Company at The Palms Hotel (long ass walk from our hotel). Had to see where Inked was taped.

So for my first trip to Vegas, it was great... really different than anything I've seen before.

I'll be posting pics when I get them so you can all see what I saw.
