The loser of the shootout still get one point :erm2: But the extra point the winners get could make a standing difference.
Anyway, I hate them. Continuous OT so that there is never a tie I would be fine with but a shootout is awful. Penalty shots used to be exciting. Now I could care less when they happen because the shootout has taken any thrill that had away. After a hard played game it shouldn't come down to such a pathetic end that makes the rest of the game pointless.
