I would go for Big Sam as well for the same reasons as you've given.

I would consider Steve McLaren, he's been around the England squad for some time now, so the players all know him and it would be a fairly easy transition.

I think it should be another Englishman who takes over after Sven. It was hard to think of that many top flight English managers. The only other 3 I can think of are Alan Curbishly, Brian Robson and Paul Jewell, and I don't think either of them are ready for the national side.
