I have never played ice hockey either. Never really learned how to skate. I think I went skating once as a kid, fell on my ass a lot and decided I didn't like it. Maybe I should give it another chance now that I would have more patience and have always wanted to play ice hockey

So my only hockey experience has been floor hockey and street hockey. In grade 9 my junior high started having actitivty days where you could pick a sport to play for the day. I always went with floor hockey and me and my friends always managed to get the same team together that never lost and got to run around the gym with a pathetic tropy made out of cardboard all three of the activity days. With my height I was basically Bertuzzi on running shoes since everybody was so short and small compared to me I could basically just run them over on my way to the net :laugh11: Then I have always had really good running acceleration so that combined with my wrist shot lead to goal after goal. Then my one friend had played ice hockey since he was young as a goalie and he didn't let in many goals. My other two friends mostly stayed back to defend but would come up for rebounds and stuff. Also had to do more offense on my frequent penalties *Cough* Wish they did those since grade 7 though since the next year it was off to high school and never seeing floor hockey again :lick: Was the most fun I think I ever had in school.

Street hockey hasn't been as happy for me though. Like I said my wrist shot is great but in floor hockey we were not allowed slap shots so when I could do that in street hockey it lead to some trouble. My slap shot is hard but about 0% accurate :laugh11: So when I wind up I just let it go and pray I don't break anything. Which I did do a couple of times. Thankfully I never hit a window though. Only a fence, siding of a house and my friends nose. Oh and my one friend might not be having kids but we are still waiting to determine that one. Then I have had my fair share of injuries too. But really it is worth it for a couple of hours of fun playing street hockey with your friends. Then when I was a kid it was really great. We used to live in this townhouse complex that had a perfect place to play hockey. Everybody who lived there from younger kids like me to older teens would get together and play. How they tolerated us I will never know but all were great around kids. Nothing but good memories of those days. Still miss that place even though it has been about 10 years since we moved and I know it probably wouldn't be the same now.

Oh and then there was wall hockey. We used to have concrete walls in our basement so when I was bored and there wasn't one of the street hockey games going on I would pull out my trapper and toss a tennis ball against it. Of course one day I had to have an accident with something like that to. Ball bounced off the wall faster than I expected and got me right in the eye :lick: It sounds stupid but it as a kid it managed to keep me entertained for hours.
