| whoa whoa whoa guys...let's not make Barry Bonds out to be a saint just yet. After all:
*His personal trainer was involved with a laboratory that got busted for producing anabolic steroids
*Two other players implicated in the same scandal (Sheffield and Giambi) have subtlely admitted to using illegal BALCO products
*Bonds himself said that he took BALCO products from his trainer, although his defense is that he took them unknowingly
*Despite being a great player his entire career, his career numbers in his late-30's absolutely blow away the numbers in his "prime" years
*His head has grown extremely large and disproportionate
Now, like I said earlier, in the two years that they've actually been testing (2 years that came after his monster years, mind you), he has never tested positive. And you can't punish him for something he never got caught for. But you gotta admit that there's some cause for skepticism on the part of the baseball fans regarding the legitimacy of Bonds's performance the last 5 years |
