I kind of feel bad for Messier, the way he had to go out here. No farewell tour, no nothing. I can't even believe I'm about to say this, I'm sure it's different in Canada, but here in the U.S. we hardly got any coverage of the whole thing. Unreal. Messier deserves better than that

On an even sadder note for me, I'll always remember when I was a little boy Pens fan cheering on Ron Francis. Very, extremely underrated, but not underappreciated by his teammates.. They all knew how important he was. And on ESPN, what do I get? About 5 damn seconds. "Oh.. Ron Francis retired." They take a quick look at the all-time scoring leaders and that was that. Assholes.
