Yeah, replacing Ed Donatell with Bob Slowik after 4th and 26 was definitely one of the stupidest things Mike Sherman ever did as GM. I wasn't the biggest fan of Donatell, but the Packers had a pretty good defense that year and it was a rookie (Barnett) who blew the coverage on that play. Donatell has since moved on to Atlanta, where his defense looked fantastic last year, and definitely so far this year as well.

As for Slowik, he should never have any type of authority position.

Jim Bates, the new DC (Miami's old DC/interim HC), is the best addition the Packers made this year, I think. Unlike Sherman, he gets his guys fired up on the sidelines, and has a great defensive system.

Right now, however, the defensive talent is pitiful.
