| Go to the driving range before and PRACTICE! An hour on the range makes a huge difference. Go to the course early the day of the tournie as well, and practice on the putting green for a bit. Every decent course should have a practice putting green.
Try using a softer ball to start. Insted of just going for cheap, crappy Top Flite, spend a little more money and try either a Maxfli Noodle, or a Titleist NXT (or an NXT tour). Both are a little pricy, but you will notice a big difference in your game. Avoid Pinnacle balls by all means, they are crappy distance balls.
When swiging your driver, it is better for learners to take a slower backswing, and then swing faster at the ball, and make sure to follow through, your elbow pointing at where you want the ball to go. And the bigger the driver head, the better if your a beginnger. |
