| You think this shit only goes on in sport? It happens when you are good at anything.
I know lawyers who make several hundred thousand a year. They spend more time working on their own contract and playing political games within the office than on any of their cases.
It's the same when you get to the top of ANY profession. It's just made public with sport cause people actually care which team signs who, but couldn't care less what lawyers were working for what firm, or which doctor was the new chief of staff at a hospital.
Throw into the mix that most athletes have about 10 years before they're pumping gas, whereas most other professions you keep climbing till you die/retire, I can understand why they'd wanna get what they can while they can. |
